On Tour4WD VehiclesWe need 4WD vehicles to access the best of the Kimberley. Our modern vehicles are regularly serviced and maintained to minimise the possibility of breakdowns. All are air-conditioned and equipped with satellite phones for safety.
Camping EquipmentOur camping equipment is of the highest quality and is well suited to camping comfortably in the Kimberley. We supply each passenger with a comfortable dome tent, a genuine Aussie Bush Swag with foam mattress, fitted sheets, continental quilt (doona) and pillow. You will not need your sleeping bag. We carry chairs, tables and all cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. We carry extensive first aid kits and satellite phones everywhere for your safety and security. CateringOur guides are excellent bush cooks and serve freshly prepared meals each day. Evening meals are cooked on open fires in authentic camp ovens or portable BBQ plates and our adventurers are encouraged to partake of their favourite beverages with meals. Dinner is a great chance to learn about bush cooking by ‘helping out’ with preparation of the meal. Passengers are also encouraged to pitch in and help with cleaning up after the meal. Participation is encouraged in all aspects of the tour.VegetariansWe regularly cater for vegetarians, just let us know when you are making your booking. All vegetarian meals are prepared in separate pots and pans.
SnacksIced water, cordial, fruit, muesli bars etc are always available for snacks during the day. BreakfastsConsists of cereals, toast, spreads and tea or coffee. LunchesAre fresh bread sandwiches or rolls with a wide selection of fillings from beef, chicken, ham, salami, cheese and salads, along with many condiments. Food/Drink ExtrasKAT supplies all meals for each day as well as fruit, biscuits and other snacks during the day. We also supply iced water, cordial, tea and coffee. If you require food or drinks beyond these, eg soft drinks, chocolates, ice creams etc you can purchase these yourself at many places along the way. Alcohol can be purchased in Kununurra along the way, however liquor restrictions are in place in the Kimberley. If departing from Broome it is recommended you purchase enough alcohol prior to the tour, to last for 4 nights before you can restock. If you are departing from Darwin, alcohol can be purchased in Katherine on the first afternoon.
Please make sure that when purchasing beer and wine you do NOT buy these in glass bottles. Cans and casks do not break over rough roads like glass. Glass stubbies are also very difficult to carry as rubbish. |
